Affiliate disclosure
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may be paid a commission by the retailer. It costs you nothing extra.
We get paid if you buy through some links. We do not get paid to say a product is cheaper than it is, and the rankings on this site are produced by arithmetic before any link is attached to them.
Where they appear
Affiliate links appear inside articles, usually next to a product we have priced. Any block containing them is labelled where it sits, not only here. We do not use affiliate links in the cost tables themselves, because a table is a piece of arithmetic and should not also be a shop window.
What it does not affect
Which option a comparison finds cheapest is decided by the calculation, from inputs published on the page and in our method. That happens before any commercial relationship exists, and a retailer paying more commission cannot move a row up a table. If a product with no affiliate programme at all is the cheapest, it is still shown as the cheapest.
Who we work with
We work with retailers through affiliate networks, principally Awin. We are not paid by energy suppliers, manufacturers or comparison sites for editorial coverage, and we do not publish sponsored posts or paid guest articles.
Your rights
UK guidance from the Competition and Markets Authority and the Advertising Standards Authority requires commercial relationships to be disclosed clearly and up front rather than buried. That is why the label sits next to the link and not only on this page.
